Contribute Now to create a free-of-charge concrete skatepark for the youth of Addis Ababa. It's all or nothing!

With your support, a team of volunteer skatepark builders from around the world will construct Addis Skatepark, a 400 m2 concrete skatepark this April at the Besrate Gabriel Kebele Youth Center in central Addis Ababa. The skatepark will provide the youth of Addis Ababa with an environment to inspire creativity and community through skateboarding and will encourage local youth to participate in building their own skatepark.

Construction will be led by Make Life Skate Life

Make Life Skate Life is a non-profit organization that works with local skateboarding communities throughout the world to create free of charge concrete skateparks. Projects are led by professional skatepark builders and involve local communities in the planning and construction process. Past projects creating world-class concrete skateparks in India, Bolivia, Jordan, and Myanmar have allowed youth to become leaders in their communities and creative problem solvers for change.

The community skateparks that Make Life Skate Life has created in India, Bolivia, Jordan, and Myanmar have had incredibly positive impacts on youth in those communities. Let's create the same impact for the youth of Ethiopia

Addis Skatepark will be operated by Ethiopia Skate

Ethiopia Skate is a local community of skateboarders based in Addis Ababa working to promote the accessibility of skateboarding throughout the country and create opportunities for urban youth to feel empowered, hopeful, and creative in their lives. Since 2013, Ethiopia Skate has been able to provide access to skateboarding equipment to over 150 kids across Ethiopia. Once the skatepark is completed, classes will be taught regularly and an on-site loaner skateboard program will be operated to provide free of charge skateboards, safety equipment, and skate shoe rentals, so that all youth can enjoy the skatepark, regardless of economic standing.

Thanks for your support!

Help us get the word out about the Addis Skatepark campaign by sharing the project with friends and family. As this is an all-or-nothing campaign, funds will only be distributed and the skatepark will only be built if we reach our goal of $25,500.

For the latest project updates, follow @addispark on Facebook, Instagram, andTwitter. You can reach us at addisskatepark@gmail.com.

Show your support for Addis Skatepark and Contribute Now! All donations go through Make Life Skate Life, a German registered non-profit organization.
